Talbot Fire

The PCT is currently closed from Barker Pass Trailhead in the south (approx. mile 1126) to Donner Pass Road in the north (approx. mile 1154.5) on the Tahoe National Forest, Truckee Ranger District. The Talbot Fire is west of the PCT and poses a threat to the area. For northbound trail users, options to exit the trail include taking the Tahoe-Yosemite Trail into Meeks Bay at Lake Tahoe or the Blackwood Canyon Road from Barker Pass to Lake Tahoe. There is no public transportation available from Barker Pass Trailhead, but it is available around Lake Tahoe. For southbound trail users, exit the trail at Donner Summit or Donner Pass Road. Public transportation is available in Truckee and at Donner Lake.
