Sisi Fire near Stehekin
The Pacific Crest Trail is closed between Suiattle Pass (mile 2555.2) and Bridge Creek Camp (mile 2580.1) due to the Sisi Fire. High Bridge, Stehekin Valley Road from Stehekin Valley Ranch to High Bridge, and other areas are also closed. Legal closures orders are in place for both U.S. Forest Service and National Park Service lands. If you will be detouring around, please note: PCT Long-distance Permits are for the PCT corridor only, usually defined as ½ mile on each side of the trail. To hike other routes, you must obtain local permits. In North Cascades National Park, PCT Long-distance Permit holders are allowed to camp at the designated sites at Lakeview, Bridge Creek, and Six Mile. Camping in any other location requires an additional permit. For PCT hikers detouring through Cascade River Road and Cascade Pass area - backcountry permits are required for overnight stays in the park and must be picked up in person at the Wilderness Information Center in Marblemount. There is a PCT drop in camp at Bridge Creek camp that is 16 miles from Cascade Pass Trailhead. If traveling along Cascade River Road, the park boundary begins at mile marker 18 and Cascade Pass Trailhead at mile marker 23. Within the park boundary, dispersed camping is not allowed along the road or on the trail. A Rainbow Creek Trail detour requires a permit if camping in a location other than the 3 designated sites near Stehekin (Lakeview, Bridge Creek, and Six Mile).
