SoCal Storm Damage-San Bernardino NF

Updated:
Southern California
Alert

Due to the incredibly heavy rains that have hit SoCal this winter, the trail has sustained significant damage in many areas. Please exercise extreme caution in these areas. The PCT is not currently to standard and may prove challenging for hiking and difficult if not impassable for equestrians. Assessments are still being done to determine the extent of the damage and to prioritize the most heavily impacted areas. At this time, we are aware of damage to the greater Deep Creek area on the San Bernardino National Forest, damage to the trail in the Angeles National Forest in the Wrightwood area, damage to the trail from Sawmill to Lake Hughes Rd., and the existing damage to Mission Creek. There may be damage to other areas of the trail as well. Please utilize the trail conditions reporting form if you'd like to give us details on damaged areas. Please include as much detail as possible including mileage markers. We are working to assess all areas we have been alerted to being damaged. Thank you and happy trails.
