Detour information

Please click the closure map button for a map of this detour. The well signed detour begins just south of the Red’s Meadow Resort, travels just below the horse corrals and runs directly through the resort and bus stop # 10. It continues northbound to Red’s Meadow Campground. After following the road through the campground, it goes along Red’s Creek to Sotcher Lake. It continues around the east side of Sotcher Lake going counter-clockwise on the Sotcher Lake Nature Trail loop to the Sotcher Feeder Trail. From there it runs the length of the Sotcher Feeder Trail .8 miles, going over a small gap to the only Red’s Meadow Road crossing near the turnoff to Minaret Falls Campground, bus stop #5. After crossing the paved road, it continues north through Pumice Flat coming out at the road through Pumice Flat Campground. From this campground north, there is a short section of trail connecting the Pumice Flat and Upper Soda Springs Campgrounds and bus stop #3. The road through Upper Soda Springs Campground ends at a trail that takes you to the bridge site and the end of the detour.
