How to use the app
This page describes some of the app's features. We'll keep adding to this with more in-depth information as time goes on.
Browse closures by region or by map
Closures in the List view appear in buckets by region. Scroll side to side to reveal all Closures. All Closures are displayed from the Map view. Tap on a pin to open the Closure.
View closure information, including interactive maps, embedded PDFs, images, and more
Read through vital closure information, and explore embedded images and PDFs, links to other websites, or access the interactive PCT Closure Map. Note that some assets require you to be online (connected to cellular service or Wi-Fi) to view them.
Navigate interactive PCT Closure Maps
Pan, zoom, and navigate the interactive PCT Closure Maps with detailed topographic basemaps and shapes drawn by PCTA staff to represent closed trail, points of interest, or other map data. You will see points, lines, and polygons of different colors and patterns that are often labeled to describe what the shapes represent.
Create an account to download PCT Closure Maps for offline use, or save closures to your watchlist
Creating an account allows you to download PCT Closure Maps for use when you're offline (not connected to cellular service or Wi-Fi). High-resolution topographic basemaps for the vicinity of the closure and accompanying shapes will be downloaded to your phone. A checkbox appears when you have the Closure downloaded. Your account also enables you to save Closures to your watchlist by tapping on the bookmark icon.
Browse general fire and safety information pages
Read through PCTA's best advice about what to do in emergency situations, how to react to wildfires, and more on the app's Info pages. You already made it here, so you have already discovered this part of the app, good job.
